Tania H. This pattern is well drafted, the instructions and diagrams are clear and detailed and I love the videos which guide you through every step of the construction process from start to finish. I love the fact that this pattern is designed to be zero/minimal waste and how all the pattern pieces fit nicely into one another when placing on fabric for cutting. This pattern is very flattering for all shapes and sizes and I especially loved it for my pear shaped body. This pattern has so many interesting elements and I love that I learned some new skills along the way, including making a belt & embroidery and as a beginner embroiderer, I found the embroidery video super helpful. I really love the Edith Smock, it's such an enjoyable sew & it really has so many possibilities to change things up and make something that's uniquely yours.
Tircia M. I enjoyed making this dress. Watching a video before making, and being able to check back as I reached anything I wasn’t clear about, was new to me and seems really helpful. I was interested in the way the pattern has been shaped to achieve almost zero waste, and like the details that used up the fabric. My daughter is pleased with her new dress and looking forward to warmer weather to wear it!
Giulia. Making this was like having a blank canvas where to express all my creativity...one that I could wear afterwards!

Chloe W. The Edith Smock is a unique, zero-waste pattern that not only results in a beautiful, wearable garment, but also makes learning new and interesting skills achievable AND fun! The step-by-step instruction, clear diagrams and helpful sew-along video offer plenty of guidance along the way. The best bit is that there are SO many options when sewing the Edith Smock - use a woven or knit fabric, make a dress or top, change up the center front by either smocking (or faux-smocking) or gathering it, and there is the option to embellish with embroidery or add a belt or slip if desired.
